Foxtail Millet


In ancient Chinese tradition, Foxtail Millet was a staple food.

It gets its name from the bushy tip on its grassy stems, not unlike the tail of a fox! Rich in protein and minerals, it was cultivated across Asia, including India and the Middle East, before spreading further afield to the African and American continents.

Cultivated in Tamil Nadu since some of the very first civilizations, it has a very short crop cycle of just 60 to 90 days before it matures. In South India, it continues to be a popular nutricereal today, and its health benefits are so profound that they will sustain you for life!
